The Germans have done it again, they have created a Porsche super car. As you probably already know, the name of the super car is Porsche Carrera GT. It was first introduced in 2004 has a low, sleek, lightweight roadster feeling that is beautiful for the eyes and when you listen to the engine, then you know that is almost like candy to your ears! You can use the car with a top on or is the sun shining then your probably want the top down.
Not only is it the most expensive Porsche has built, but it's the fastest of all the cars they have built. With it's V10 engine producing about 600 horsepower. It's a 5.7-liter engine with 605 hp, to be precisely. The Carrera GT's aerodynamic and race-bred suspension package provides safe and stable travel at speeds of up to 205 mph (330 km/h). The Carrera GT features the extensive use of lightweight materials, such as magnesium for the car's substantial wheels and the frames of its special sport seats. The result of this engine is just great, or what do you think about making 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds and it reaches 160km/h in less then 7 seconds. If you put the metal to the floor then you can reach 330km/h and this great numbers is called super sport scar!
The engines block, crankshaft and camshaft are all made of light alloys and the engines weight is about 214 kg. The crankshaft is designed to operate at speed of up to 8,400 rpm and is designed for minimum mass inertia and thus offers maximum torsion stiffness. The engine has a closed deck configuration, a principle carried over from the motor sports into the road cars. This enables the cylinders to be cooled by internal water chambers that surrounds the cylinders.
Even though the engine pretty much is a like a race car, the interior say something else. The Carrera GT has a cockpit some extensive use of high-tech materials. Magnesium, leather combined with carbon fiber is just some of the luxury item for the car. The seats are finished in smooth leather and have manual adjustment because it's a lot more light weight then with power motors. Each seat weights only 10.8kg comparing that to a standard Porsche car seat that weight about 20 kg, this save you a lot of weight. This seats are all made of composite carbon shell.
